Wind returned today with a vengeance. Fully powered on my 4.6. First proper session on my now fixed Axxis...should really have been on a wave board considering the conditions but thought I would try it anyway. Need to get used to it since virtually all the centre boards are reserved for the next few weeks.

Axxis took some getting used to after having been sailing wave boards for most of the past 3 weeks. Stiffer, less loose, slightly harder to jump and much less manouverable in the air.....but easier to land (less spinout), faster (sometimes scarily so....) easier to get planing and much easier to gybe. Soon realised that it was possible to scream into gybes at full speed and carve round much harder and with more commitment than on the wave boards, which can spin round too quickly and rail-trip if carved too hard and fast (ooo-errr....). First 15 minutes sailing the board felt strange but then got used to it and started to pull off some more big mumma jumps, many of which I sailed away from since the board was much more tolerant of my dodgy landing technique and less likely to spin-out.

Mirella was out in the water with the camera again so great fun screaming past her and into gybes for photos. Even managed to pull off a few dry ones. Can feel my gybing technique improving now....know exactly what it feels like and what I should be doing so fully determined to really get them nailed on the Axxis now.

To top it all off, an absolutely amazing sunset to finish off the day after coming off the water. Nice.
